About the Role
Join the Retail team at G&M as a vital member of our store operations. In this full-time, hourly position, you will be the face of our brand, dedicated to providing exceptional customer service that aligns with our corporate standards. Your primary mission is to foster a friendly, safe, and clean environment for both our customers and fellow employees.
You will serve as a versatile team player, comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced setting. Whether you are managing the Point of Sale (POS) system, preparing fresh food and beverages, or ensuring the store remains pristine, your contributions directly impact the daily experience of our shoppers. This role is designed for individuals who thrive in a collaborative atmosphere and take pride in maintaining the highest levels of operational excellence and safety.
Day in the Life
Your day will be dynamic, blending customer interaction with essential store maintenance. You will operate the cash register and fuel console with precision, handling various transactions including credit cards, coupons, and age-restricted items like alcohol and tobacco. As a key part of the team, you will actively engage in sales promotions and build lasting customer relationships through suggestive selling.
Beyond the register, you will play a crucial role in food preparation, brewing fresh coffee every two hours, maintaining the condiment bar, and ensuring all food items are fresh and properly rotated. You will also be responsible for the physical upkeep of the store, from sweeping and mopping floors to deep cleaning restrooms and sanitizing equipment. During night shifts, your duties expand to include comprehensive cleaning of drains, walls, and all machinery to prepare the store for the morning rush.
Hiring Process
Candidates selected for an interview will undergo an evaluation of their computer skills, specifically focusing on competency with the PDI Enterprise POS system. We look for individuals who can learn simple tasks quickly and work effectively with minimal supervision.
