About the Role
As a Retail Team Member at G&M, you are the face of our brand, dedicated to providing exceptional customer service that aligns with our corporate standards. This role is vital to creating a friendly, safe, and clean environment for both our customers and our team. You will work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team, multitasking to ensure smooth store operations while upholding the highest levels of safety and service.
Day in the Life
Your day will be a blend of customer interaction, operational precision, and store maintenance. You will operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and fuel console with accuracy, handling cash, credit cards, and various payment types while adhering to strict company policies for alcohol, tobacco, and lottery sales. Beyond the register, you will actively engage in sales promotions and suggestive selling to build lasting customer relationships.
You will also play a key role in maintaining the store's atmosphere. This includes preparing fresh hot food items, brewing coffee, and managing the condiment bar to ensure quality and freshness. You will be responsible for keeping the store spotless—from sweeping floors and sanitizing equipment to deep cleaning restrooms and organizing backroom supplies. Whether you are stocking shelves, receiving vendor deliveries, or managing the fuel delivery area, your attention to detail ensures the store is always ready for the next customer.
Hiring Process
Candidates selected for an interview will undergo an evaluation of their computer skills, specifically competency in the PDI Enterprise POS system. Successful applicants will be expected to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to learn tasks quickly with minimal supervision.
