Cashiers are expected to actively seek product knowledge to assist customers and identify opportunities to enhance their shopping experience, all while adhering to policies that minimize shrink.
The Head Cashier acts as a key support figure for the team, positioning Cashiers effectively and expediting critical tasks such as price checks, Point of Sale approvals, and markdowns across mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, the Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental. This role serves as the first point of escalation for customer issues. Additionally, the Head Cashier plays a vital part in team development by supervising, coaching, and training Front End Associates, including leading the training of new Cashiers and utilizing available tools to foster their growth.
