VOALA (Volunteers of America) is a non-profit human services organization dedicated to helping our most vulnerable change their life stories. We are committed to serving people in need, strengthening families, and building communities across the Los Angeles area. Our mission is realized through a wide array of social services, including Head Start programs, Upward Bound college prep, veterans' services, homeless shelters, low-income housing, and drug and alcohol rehabilitation.
As a Case Manager Generalist, you will serve as the primary point of contact for clients classified as low acuity, providing comprehensive case management services. You will coordinate care and resources for individuals facing complex challenges, including homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, and re-entry from incarceration.
In this role, you will conduct screenings and assessments to understand the functional, environmental, and psycho-social needs of clients and their families. You will develop individualized case plans, set goals, and connect participants with the necessary resources to achieve them. Your day-to-day work involves coaching and providing social support, accompanying participants to activities, and acting as an advocate before judicial, community, and administrative bodies. You will also facilitate support groups and engage in outreach to bring new participants into our programs.
All candidates must successfully pass a fingerprint clearance and background check, including criminal history, personal references, and employment/education verifications. As a mandated reporter, you must be prepared to report any instance of physical or sexual abuse to the proper authorities. Successful completion of VOALA Case Management training is required within six months of hire.
