About the Team
The Cardiac Cath Lab at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham is a trusted provider of expert cardiac care within an outpatient setting. As a proud part of UAB Medicine, the department has served Alabama for over 125 years, combining a rich legacy of service with cutting-edge technology. The team operates three fully equipped cath labs and two non-invasive labs, delivering a comprehensive range of diagnostic and interventional procedures. From heart catheterization and percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) to advanced imaging techniques like intravascular ultrasound (IVUS, OCT) and functional assessments (FFR/iFR), the group is dedicated to addressing the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of patients.
About the Role
This position offers a unique opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team where your expertise can make a lasting impact on patient outcomes. You will perform diagnostic procedures using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structures, providing high-quality images for clinical interpretation. The role involves setting up and adjusting equipment, manually maneuvering transducers, and performing both routine and complex cardiac and vascular imaging studies. Beyond technical execution, you will be responsible for maintaining safety standards, performing quality control, and ensuring the prompt submission of accurate images and documentation to PACS. You will also play a key role in maintaining a clean, orderly department environment and ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies.
