Founded in 1819, the University of Cincinnati is a Carnegie 1 institution and one of the nation's best urban public research universities. As the anchor of the Cincinnati Innovation District, UC combines research prowess with a physical setting described by The New York Times as "the most ambitious campus design program in the country." The university serves over 53,600 students and contributes significantly to the economic vitality of Ohio.
UC is a mission-driven organization committed to student success and positively transforming the community through scholarship and service. We thrive on innovation, making an impact, and fostering an environment where staff and faculty are key contributors to UC's success.
Campus Recreation's mission is to create an inclusive environment that inspires movement and community. Operating three distinct fitness spaces—the Campus Recreation Center, the Fitness Center at CARE/Crawley, and the Siddall Fitness Center—we offer diverse opportunities for members to get active, from cardio and weight equipment to group fitness, swimming pools, and a climbing wall.
We strive to be a place where members can connect with one another in a safe and positive environment. Our team values teamwork, education, problem-solving, curiosity, and fun. The Building Supervisor role is central to this mission, ensuring the day-to-day operations of the Campus Recreation Center run smoothly while upholding these core values.
The Building Supervisor serves as the primary responder for the Campus Recreation Center, responsible for maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for members, prospective members, rental groups, and guests. This position acts as a hub for facility operations, managing equipment setup and maintenance, executing special events and rentals, and assisting student staff groups.
Beyond operational duties, the role involves enforcing policies, communicating effectively with professional staff, and participating in the recruitment and training of future supervisors. It is an opportunity to develop skills in teamwork, problem-solving, and customer service within a dynamic, energetic setting.
