This position serves as a critical leadership hub within the Department of Finance, dedicated to the professional analysis, development, and administration of Fulton County's operating budget. The role exists to ensure fiscal stability and transparency by advising County officials on the status of revenues and expenditures while providing strategic oversight of the budget process from conception to execution.
In this capacity, you will act as a key advisor to the Finance Director and the Board of Commissioners. Your day-to-life involves conducting regular financial projections, reviewing complex analyses prepared by staff, and presenting comprehensive reports on budget findings. You will lead the preparation of the annual budget book, coordinating with department heads and elected officials to balance the budget and develop revenue estimates. Additionally, you will direct the execution of the adopted budget, managing transfers, capital budgets, and complex accounting functions such as fund balance reservations for restricted court revenues.
Beyond technical financial management, this role requires strong leadership in supervising and evaluating assigned staff. You will be responsible for hiring, training, and performance management, ensuring the team operates effectively within county policies and procedures. The position also involves representing the department at Board of Commissioner meetings, public hearings, and workshops to present budget adoption plans and millage rates.
