The Department of Mental Health (DMH) assures and provides access to services and supports to meet the mental health needs of individuals of all ages, enabling them to live, work, and participate in their communities. We establish standards to ensure effective and culturally competent care to promote recovery, set policy, promote self-determination, protect human rights, and support mental health training and research.
As a Budget Analyst within the Department's Central Office, you will serve as a vital partner to senior management and program staff. This role exists to provide critical assistance and guidance on financial, staffing, and programmatic planning. You will work both as part of a collaborative team and independently to accomplish assigned goals, utilizing your analytical skills to interpret data from state and agency databases.
In this position, you will identify trends in the agency's programs and expenditures, compiling information for management use in automated records, cost accounting reports, and narrative reports. Your work will directly influence administrative planning by helping forecast DMH's expenditures using historical and projected program data. You will be the bridge between complex financial data and actionable policy decisions, ensuring that fiscal opportunities and problems are identified early and that resources are managed effectively across service areas.

General understanding of budgeting/accounting principles and practices applied to GAAP, GAGAS, and GAAS. Prior experience working with MOSAIC, HRCMS (HRIS), and LCM systems. Knowledge of the state budget process. Proficient usage of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, and/or other programs used for data gathering and analysis. Bilingual or multilingual fluency.
