As a BMET II (Biomedical Equipment Technician), you will perform repair, preventive maintenance, and calibration of medical equipment. You will troubleshoot electronic circuits under minimum supervision, evaluating and resolving operational problems involving medical equipment and clinical networked systems at the request of clinical staff and department management. Your role involves completing and recording all required maintenance documentation and serving in an on-call rotation.
In this position, you will adjust, calibrate, lubricate, and perform operational verification and electrical safety tests to ensure the efficient performance and safety of complex medical equipment. You will maintain an accurate and complete inventory of medical devices and systems in your assigned areas. Clear communication with users in patient care areas is essential, whether during rounds or while investigating reported malfunctions; you will also provide impromptu technical in-services to clinical staff when needed.
You will analyze the serviceability, reliability, and technical aspects of equipment, scheduling and documenting work as directed. Using engineering methodology, you will transfer working knowledge and understanding of electronic circuitry and medical applications from one type of instrumentation to another. Additionally, you will review and/or order parts and materials to ensure the right items are ordered at the right time from the most effective source while maintaining prudent stock levels.
This position operates on an Evening shift (1:00 PM - 11:30 PM) on a 4x10 schedule.
