OU Health is launching a NEW Pediatric Behavioral Health Center, scheduled to open in December 2026. This facility represents a significant expansion of our commitment to comprehensive care, specifically targeting the unique needs of children and adolescents. The center will operate as part of the BHC Support Services department, integrating seamlessly with our existing outpatient, inpatient, and emergency department services to provide a continuum of care for patients requiring behavioral health support.
We are seeking Licensed Behavioral Health Therapists to join our team at the Children's Behavioral Health Center. This position is designed for candidates who are passionate about pediatric care and are ready to contribute to a new, specialized clinical environment. Depending on your experience and education, you will be hired at Level I, II, or III, with a start date expected after September 1, 2026.
As a therapist, you will work under the direct supervision of an independently licensed individual, providing essential therapeutic services to pediatric patients. Your day will involve conducting therapeutic interviews and psychosocial assessments, developing collaborative care plans, and delivering evidence-based psychotherapy interventions such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). You will also facilitate therapy groups, perform risk assessments, and act as a vital liaison between patients, families, and other agencies. A core part of your role is utilizing trauma-informed care to support patients and families through illness, treatment adjustments, and ethical dilemmas.
Candidates must be at least 21 years of age. The hiring process includes the submission of two professional references. All applicants must hold an active supervision contract with the applicable Oklahoma State Board or be eligible for a provisional license within the first three months of employment. Successful candidates will participate in regular case consultations, team meetings, and weekly individual or group supervision as required by their licensure.
OU Health is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment. We believe that a supportive culture is essential for both our staff and the patients we serve. We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to provide peace of mind for you and your family, ensuring you can focus on delivering the highest quality of care.
