This position serves students ages 4–12 in a vibrant Before & After-School setting at Wolcott St. Elementary School District. We are looking for applicants with an upbeat personality, a genuine love for working with children of various ages, and a strong desire to be a positive role model for our youth. Under the direction of the Before and After School Site Coordinator, you will provide direction to children and assist in implementing the program curriculum while ensuring the overall safety and well-being of every child.
This is a part-time position averaging less than 30 hours per week, running from the current date through the end of June in accordance with the school district calendar. Summer work opportunities are also available through our recreation and camp programs. The role focuses on delivering a quality experience to children and families that embodies the YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
Your day will involve designing and implementing daily lesson and activity plans, supervising children and classroom activities, and maintaining constant visual contact with assigned groups. You will engage in land and water-based activities, building enthusiasm for programs while assisting children in completing tasks and assessing their developmental stages. Beyond direct supervision, you will maintain positive relationships with families through conferences and communication, keep program areas neat and organized, and complete required documentation regarding attendance, health, and wellness. You will also participate in family nights, staff meetings, and trainings to support the physical, intellectual, social, cultural, and emotional well-being of the children.
