About the Role
As a Bakery or Deli Clerk, you will be the face of our fresh food department, creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. You will establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return, while assisting the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals. Embracing our "Customer 1st" strategy, you will encourage associates to deliver excellent service and demonstrate our core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
Your day will involve preparing items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment, offering product samples to help customers discover new items, and informing them of specials. You will ensure customers receive fresh products in the correct portion sizes, recommend items to meet their needs, and maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and temperature logs. Beyond the counter, you will manage inventory, label merchandise, and foster an environment where customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated.
