The Resort Operations Finance team is a specialized group of Finance and Accounting (F&A) professionals embedded on-site across various Marriott Vacation Club resort locations. As the brand expands, the team's footprint grows to support a dynamic portfolio of properties. The team's core mission is to ensure financial compliance with management agreements for nonprofit property owners' associations while delivering robust financial reporting, analytics, and performance insights for on-site ancillary business operations.
The Associate Vice President (AVP) of Finance serves as the strategic finance leader for multiple properties within one or more regions. Rather than managing individual property operations directly, this role provides portfolio-level direction, governance, and escalation leadership through the Market Directors of Finance (MDOF) and Directors of Finance (DOF). The AVP champions finance strategies that enable operating teams to deliver products meeting brand expectations while optimizing profitability, cash flow, and return on investment.
As a proactive senior leader, the AVP translates complex financial and operational data into actionable insights, facilitating timely decisions that maximize business value and manage risk. This role sets portfolio-level performance standards, drives a consistent cadence for analytics and forecasting, and ensures accounting operations align with Resort Operations priorities. The AVP maintains a pulse on both portfolio performance and the external environment, anticipating change while meeting company financial objectives.
Through clear communication and disciplined operating rhythms, the AVP sets expectations, monitors progress, and course-corrects as needed. Core responsibilities include executive-level business partnering, protecting the integrity of financial reporting, and driving improvements in transparency, standardization, efficiency, and effectiveness across the organization.
Candidates for this senior leadership role will engage in a comprehensive evaluation process designed to assess strategic vision, leadership capability, and cultural fit. The process typically includes:
