AVP, Reliability Engineer

About the Role

The AVP, Reliability Engineer is a hands-on leader dedicated to system design and architecture, ensuring time-sensitive projects are delivered on time and to specification. You will support and maintain business and commercial applications within Synchrony, focusing on uptime, reliability, and the development of thoughtful solutions to anticipate bugs and maintain operational excellence. As one of the team's leaders, you will influence a large cross-functional team to deliver cutting-edge customer communications applications.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about web software development, possesses common sense in design thinking, and is slightly obsessed with writing elegant, testable, and performant code. You will think like a customer, ensuring UX is central to your decision-making, while leveraging a strong background in DB and Full Stack development to adapt quickly to new technologies and languages.

Our Way of Working

At Synchrony, we offer choice and flexibility. Our way of working allows you the option to work from home near one of our Hubs or come into one of our offices. Occasionally, you may be required to commute to our nearest office for in-person engagement activities such as business or team meetings, training, and culture events.

Hiring Process

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate their ability to influence agile development teams through all phases of the Agile development life cycle. The selection process focuses on identifying individuals who can lead by example, mentor team members at all levels, and drive a CI/CD strategy. Successful candidates will be expected to participate in Agile scrums, lead sprints as a technical expert, and collaborate with software developers, UX designers, and product managers to create amazing web apps.
