As an AVP, Model Validation, you will serve as a key leader within our Risk organization, ensuring our credit acquisition, account management, fraud, and marketing models adhere to rigorous Model Risk Management policies and federal regulations (OCC2011-12/SR 11-7). This position is designed for a high-expertise professional who operates with minimal technical supervision, taking full accountability for validation results across diverse model categories.
You will partner closely with Synchrony Financial business teams to uncover and highlight model risks, while collaborating with the broader Risk organization to validate the accuracy and performance of both statistical/AI/ML and non-statistical models. Your day-to-day involves leading end-to-end validation projects for new and existing models, performing in-depth analysis on large datasets, and providing expert guidance on the latest developments in academia, regulatory environments, and risk technology.
At Synchrony, we are proud to offer flexibility. Our way of working allows you the option to work from home near one of our Hubs or come into one of our offices. You will be required to commute to your nearest Hub (either virtual or physical) for in-person engagement activities such as regular business or team meetings, training, and culture events. Occasionally, you may be required to travel for specific business or team meetings.
