Greenfield Engineering, a Saalex Company, is dedicated to advancing aviation capabilities for the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) partners. Our team focuses on the critical intersection of systems engineering, certification, and technical documentation to ensure airworthiness and operational success. We support complex navigation and airspace integration projects, with a specialized emphasis on Performance Based Navigation (PBN), RNAV/RNP, and CNS/ATM capabilities.
This position serves as a pivotal support function for the analysis, documentation, and certification of avionics systems. Unlike roles focused on hands-on software development or testing, this position concentrates on the systems engineering lifecycle, ensuring that engineering artifacts, requirements, and system behaviors meet rigorous certification standards.
You will work under the guidance of senior systems or lead engineers to review and assess avionics systems and their associated software artifacts. Your work ensures data integrity, functional performance, and proper information flow between subsystems. As a key member of Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), you will coordinate with government program offices, senior engineers, and technical stakeholders to identify risks and support verification and validation activities.
This is a full-time onsite role based at Patuxent River, MD. While there may be eligibility for recurring telework, the position requires an onsite presence for greater than or equal to 85% of the work week. This setting allows for close collaboration within the team and direct engagement with government stakeholders and technical partners.
Candidates must possess an active Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship and a successful security investigation. The selection process involves a review of technical qualifications, including a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, and a demonstration of systems engineering fundamentals.
Greenfield Engineering is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
