About MobilityWorks

Our primary mission is to serve the disabled community by providing accessible minivans, full-size vans with lifts, and commercial fleet vehicles. We are committed to empowering wheelchair users with the mobility, independence, and freedom they deserve. If you are passionate about making a positive impact, we invite you to join a team that creates a meaningful difference in people's lives.

About the Role

As an Automotive Technician at MobilityWorks, you will be part of a highly skilled team performing maintenance and repair on automotive and related equipment. Your day-to-day work involves diagnosing complex maintenance issues, conducting vehicle inspections, performing road tests, and operating specialized equipment. You will install and connect electrical wiring systems, interpret schematics, and ensure work quality through thorough inspections. Whether you are troubleshooting under-car or under-hood issues or performing preventive maintenance, your contributions directly support our customers' independence.

We offer a remarkable work-life balance with regular business hours (Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM), ensuring you can spend quality time with family or pursue interests outside of work. Every team member is highly valued, and our core values drive us to fulfill our mission and create a positive impact on our customers' lives.

Career Progression: The Tech Tier Program

We offer a structured career path designed to grow with you, from entry-level apprenticeship to master-level expertise:

  • Apprenticeship Mechanic: An entry-level position for students enrolled in accredited technical programs. You will receive hands-on mentoring from Certified or Advanced Mobility Technicians, gaining on-the-job experience with installations and repairs.
  • Service Mechanic: For entry-level mechanics seeking to acquire skills in automotive repair and the mobility industry. This role includes mechanical repairs, general diagnosis, and adaptive equipment installations.
  • Mobility Technician: For those who have completed Service Mechanic requirements and primary driving control training. You will begin installing electronic and mechanical primary driving controls and performing driver fittings.
  • Certified Mobility Technician: With at least 6 months of hands-on experience, you will perform OEM electronic repairs and mentor other mechanics under supervision.
  • Advanced Mobility Technician: Requiring 24 months of hands-on experience, this level involves complex installations and repairs alongside mentorship duties.
  • Master Mobility Technician: The highest level of expertise, requiring no supervision. Master Technicians perform any mobility installation or repair and hold advanced certifications in electrical, school bus body systems, and auxiliary power systems.

As you progress through these levels, you will unlock incentives such as patches, toll reimbursement, additional PTO accrual, and eligibility for the President's Club trip.

Hiring Process & Application

We are actively seeking mechanics and technicians of different expertise levels to join our team urgently. We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds, not limited to the mobility sector. While OEM and ASE certifications are advantageous, they are not mandatory for entry into our program. Proficiency in diagnostics and knowledge of 12-volt systems are essential starting points.

We strongly encourage military veterans to apply. Join an organization that invests in you and become part of a team that makes a meaningful difference in people's lives.

Equal Opportunity & Culture

MobilityWorks embraces diversity and inclusivity. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background and strongly encourage military veterans to apply. Our team-centric environment is built on the belief that every individual's skills, efforts, and contributions are deeply appreciated.
