About the Team

MobilityWorks is on a mission to serve the disabled community by providing accessible minivans, full-size vans with lifts, and commercial fleet vehicles. We are committed to empowering wheelchair users with the mobility, independence, and freedom they deserve. Our core values drive us to fulfill this mission and create a positive impact on our customers' lives.

We foster a team-centric environment where every member is highly valued. We deeply appreciate the skills, efforts, and contributions of each individual, and we strongly encourage military veterans to apply. We embrace diversity and inclusivity, welcoming candidates from diverse backgrounds, not limited to the mobility sector.

About the Role

As an Automotive Technician at MobilityWorks, you will join a team dedicated to making a meaningful difference in people's lives. This role is designed for those passionate about skilled mechanical work and the opportunity to support the mobility industry.

You will perform highly skilled mechanical work, including the maintenance and repair of automotive and related equipment. Your day-to-day involves diagnosing complex maintenance issues, conducting vehicle inspections, performing road tests, and operating specialized equipment. You will interpret schematics, install electrical wiring and panels, and troubleshoot issues related to the work performed. Whether you are an apprentice learning the ropes or a master technician performing complex installations, your work directly contributes to the independence of our customers.

Career Progression

MobilityWorks offers a structured Tech Tier Program designed to help you grow from entry-level to master status:

  • Apprenticeship Mechanic: An entry-level position for students in accredited technical programs, offering hands-on mentoring and on-the-job experience.
  • Service Mechanic: For entry-level mechanics seeking to acquire skills in automotive repair and the mobility industry, focusing on general diagnosis and adaptive equipment installations.
  • Mobility Technician: For those who have completed Service Mechanic requirements and primary driving control training, beginning to install electronic and mechanical primary driving controls.
  • Certified Mobility Technician: Requires completed trainings and at least 6 months of hands-on experience, allowing for OEM electronic repairs and mentorship roles.
  • Advanced Mobility Technician: Requires 24 months of hands-on experience, enabling complex installations and advanced diagnostics.
  • Master Mobility Technician: The highest level, requiring extensive experience and specific certifications (EMC, ASE A6, S1, E3). These technicians work without supervision on any mobility installation or repair.

As you progress through these levels, you will unlock incentives such as patches, toll reimbursement, additional PTO accrual, and eligibility for the President's Club trip.

Work-Life Balance & Culture

We offer a remarkable work-life balance with regular business hours (Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM), ensuring no late nights or weekends. This schedule allows you to spend quality time with your family or pursue your interests outside of work. We are an organization that invests in you, providing a fulfilling experience in a supportive team environment.

Hiring Process & Application

We are actively seeking mechanics and technicians of different expertise levels to join our team urgently. If you are passionate about making a positive impact and possess proficiency in diagnostics, we invite you to apply. While OEM and ASE certifications are advantageous, they are not mandatory for all entry points. Join us to become part of a team that makes a meaningful difference in people's lives.
