Our team manages the daily execution of athletic field operations, from preparation for major tournaments to routine upkeep, ensuring facilities remain playable and secure year-round.
As an Athletic Field Maintenance Foreperson, you will serve as the frontline leader for skilled and semi-skilled crews. Reporting to the Athletic Field Maintenance Supervisor, your primary mission is to supervise, lead, and train teams in performing essential field maintenance work with minimal oversight. The City of Amarillo operates as a Government Administration entity based in Amarillo, Texas. As the 14th-largest city within the state and the largest in the Texas Panhandle, it serves as the seat of Potter County with a portion extending into Randall County. The municipality provides essential public services to a metropolitan area spanning four counties, which includes an estimated population of over 236,000 residents. The city functions under a council-manager form of government, a system it adopted in 1913 as the first in Texas and the fifth in the United States. This structure places all governmental powers within a legislative commission consisting of five elected members, including the mayor. The commission is responsible for passing ordinances, adopting regulations, and appointing city officials. While the mayor presides over the commission, the city manager serves as the administrative head responsible for overseeing all city departments. Regular meetings are held weekly on Tuesdays to address municipal affairs and governance.
