About the Role
Lap of Love seeks an Associate Veterinarian to provide compassionate, in-home hospice and euthanasia services for pets. This position is designed for a veterinarian who values empathy, communication, and meaningful, relationship-centered care. In this role, you will perform quality-of-life assessments, guide families through end-of-life decisions, and deliver peaceful, dignified farewells in the comfort of a home setting.
You will design palliative care plans, administer sedation and euthanasia, and maintain accurate records while collaborating with a supportive, mission-driven team. Your work will focus on providing thorough physical exams, pain assessments, and quality-of-life evaluations for geriatric and terminally ill pets. You will discuss care options, prognosis, and end-of-life decisions with pet families in an empathetic, clear, and supportive manner, ensuring that every interaction upholds Lap of Love's cultural values of compassion, dignity, and empathy.
This role offers the opportunity to engage in ongoing continuing education in hospice, palliative care, and grief support. You will participate in on-call or flexible scheduling to meet client needs, including some evenings and weekends, ensuring continuity of care for those who need it most.
