The Associate Member Services Representative (MSR) is an entry-level position designed to provide team members with foundational knowledge of SECU branch operations. This role is the frontline of our member experience, responsible for providing exemplary service by responding to inquiries both in person and by telephone.
In this position, you will perform routine branch duties and follow standard procedures to ensure seamless operations. Your day-to-day activities include managing cash boxes, handling account origination and maintenance, and assisting members through various service channels. You will serve as a trusted point of contact, greeting members courteously and professionally while processing transactions, balancing cash drawers, and troubleshooting account issues. As you grow in the role, you will begin learning to open basic accounts under supervision and gain knowledge of our broader financial products, including insurance, retirement planning, and mortgage services.
Success in this role begins with comprehensive training. All new hires attend "Excel and Elevate – New Employee Training (E&E)," followed by a series of core modules covering checking accounts, member eligibility, money market share accounts, policies, and security procedures. You will also learn to operate our MARGO platform, CXone, and other essential systems. Additional required modules include SECU Online Services, Member Facing Websites, and Branch Security Measures. We are committed to your growth, so you will participate in additional training and continuing education to enhance your knowledge of branch operations and prepare for advancement to the next level.

Bachelor's degree, CCUE Certification, Associate of Arts degree, or Associate of Science degree via the North Carolina Community College Transfer Program (NC-CTP).
