This position serves as a critical bridge between the judge, the court system, and the public. Working under limited supervision within the Travis County Civil Courts, the incumbent provides advanced legal, administrative, and technical support to ensure the smooth operation of judicial proceedings. Unlike standard administrative roles, this position carries significant responsibility for case management, directly advising the judge on the execution of judicial duties, and managing the daily docket for a specific judge.
The role is distinguished by its high level of autonomy and direct impact on court operations. Incumbents act as the primary liaison for attorneys, jurors, witnesses, and the public, guiding them through complex court procedures. A key component of the day-to-day work involves the management of electronic courtroom equipment and document management systems, troubleshooting technical issues to ensure trials and hearings proceed without interruption. The position also encompasses comprehensive jury management, from selection and notification to overseeing jurors during the trial process and coordinating their needs.
You will be an integral part of the Travis County Civil and Family Courts team, located in the heart of downtown Austin. The team operates with a focus on business continuity and the efficient administration of justice. As a member of this group, you will collaborate closely with judges, court staff, law enforcement, and elected officials to maintain the integrity and flow of the civil justice system.
