About the Team

The Insights and Analytics team at Novartis is dedicated to enabling improved decision-making by leveraging superior data to identify actionable insights that drive enhanced performance. We collaborate closely with the US business, bringing insights and challenging ideas to empower smarter, data-driven decision-making. Our mission is to foster systematic, data-driven strategies that align with Novartis's strategic objectives, ensuring accurate business performance information is disseminated to all relevant stakeholders.

About the Role

Reporting into the Director, NS (Neuroscience) Business Performance Lead, the AD, Business Performance plays a pivotal role in driving strategic insights and enhancing business outcomes. This position is crucial for monitoring and tracking business performance for the brand, evaluating performance trends, and providing insights to business stakeholders to inform brand strategy.

In this role, you will proactively and systematically identify risks and opportunities, providing leadership with a comprehensive view of key performance indicators. You will work particularly closely with the Forecasting, Decision Science, Data Science, and Functional Excellence Reporting teams to ensure the data-to-analysis-to-reporting pipeline is optimized. A key part of your day involves investigating performance data anomalies to ensure data variance is not misinterpreted as a performance signal, while also implementing AI/ML models to improve performance diagnosis.

You will represent Business Performance for the brand in the new POD way of working, bringing the best of Insights & Analytics capabilities together. Your goal is to articulate a clear narrative for business performance grounded in data and insights, considering current strategy and how it should evolve. You will be responsible for implementing standardized excellence practices across the IDS reporting ecosystem and creating a shared base of understanding regarding brand performance metrics.

Location and Work Model

This position is located at the East Hanover, NJ site and requires on-site presence; remote work is not available. The role includes a travel requirement of approximately 10% (domestic and/or international) as defined by the business.

Hiring Process

Candidates selected for this role will engage in a structured interview process designed to assess both technical capabilities and cultural fit. The process typically includes:

  1. Initial Screening: A conversation with a recruiter to discuss background and role alignment.
  2. Hiring Manager Interview: A deep dive into experience, strategic thinking, and specific business performance scenarios.
  3. Team Fit & Collaboration: Interviews with cross-functional partners to evaluate collaboration skills and stakeholder management.
  4. Final Review: Final discussion with senior leadership to confirm strategic alignment.
