Key Responsibilities
- check_circleCoordinate retention of defense counsel with internal and external stakeholders
- check_circleManage case resolution process and participate in mediations
- check_circleCollaborate on setting appropriate claim reserves
- check_circleCoordinate timely processing of payments and verify policy allocation
- check_circleManage ALAE through strategic handling and bill review
- check_circleEstablish defense strategy with insured, counsel, and participating carriers
- check_circleDocument claims in hard copy and systems according to guidelines
- check_circleAnalyze, investigate, and evaluate new loss notices and claim tenders
Requirements
- verifiedBA/BS degree required
- verifiedJ.D. preferred
- verifiedCPCU or other industry designation a plus
- verifiedIndependent Property and Casualty adjuster's license a plus
- verifiedMinimum 5 years of experience in private practice asbestos or similar toxic tort litigation
- verifiedNYCAL experience preferred
- verifiedProficiency with MS Word, Excel, and internet applications
Nice to Have
J.D. degree, CPCU or other industry designation, Independent Property and Casualty adjuster's license, NYCAL experience
