The Department of Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is dedicated to advancing fundamental scientific principles through cutting-edge research and exemplary teaching. As a world-class academic community in vibrant Miami, Florida, we are expanding our faculty to shape the future of physiology and biophysics research.
Our department focuses on modern physiology and biophysics, including ion channels, cellular signaling, animal disease modeling, molecular sensors, and optical methods. We especially welcome applicants focused on neural circuits, synaptic physiology, genetic underpinnings of behavior, and the molecular mechanisms of neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders.
We are seeking accomplished researchers for open-rank faculty positions to join our growing team. You will be expected to establish and manage an independent research group, demonstrate a commitment to scientific excellence, and obtain extramural funding.
In this position, you will design and conduct creative scientific research, contribute to both basic and applied activities, and mentor graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and medical trainees. You will also have the opportunity to present research at national and international meetings and provide service to the department and the broader scientific community.
