About the Department

The Department of Communication and Media at Loyola University Maryland invites applications for a one-year, full-time, non-tenure track visiting Assistant Teaching Professor position for the 2026-27 academic year. This role is designed to bring expert instruction in digital media to our students, with the contract being renewable pending departmental needs.

About the Role

We are seeking an expert in digital media to teach video production, motion graphics, introductory computer animation, and other areas aligned with their expertise. The successful candidate will teach four courses per academic semester, hold dedicated office hours, and participate in limited department service. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the Jesuit educational mission of the university while fostering a sense of inclusion and belonging in the classroom.

Hiring Process and Application Instructions

Application review begins immediately and continues until the position is filled. Candidates must submit the following materials:

  1. A cover letter.
  2. Curriculum vita or resume.
  3. Evidence of teaching effectiveness.
  4. A statement of teaching philosophy that explicitly addresses the position summary and incorporates a clear understanding of Loyola's Jesuit mission.

After the initial review, successful candidates will be required to submit contact information for two references who can comment on teaching ability. The final candidate will be required to submit copies of official transcripts. All successful candidates for staff, faculty, or administrative positions at Loyola University Maryland are subject to a pre-employment background check.
