The Assistant Store Manager serves as a vital partner to the Store Manager, ensuring the daily operations of the retail location run with consistency, compliance, and efficiency. This role is designed to bridge the gap between leadership strategy and frontline execution, driving sales and productivity goals while fostering a culture of outstanding service for both donors and customers.
In this position, you will model key performance behaviors and provide effective direction to the team. Whether managing daily sales leadership, merchandising, or production, you will step in to assume full management responsibilities whenever the Store Manager is absent. The role requires a proactive approach to employee development, offering training, mentoring, and constructive feedback to help staff reach their full potential.
Day in the Life
Your day will be a dynamic mix of operational oversight and people leadership. You will actively participate in sales leadership, ensuring the team meets its targets through motivation and strategic planning. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to the customer experience, resolving complaints, and ensuring every interaction is professional and courteous.
You will also be the guardian of store safety and compliance, identifying hazards, managing inventory accuracy, and ensuring all financial transactions and deposits are handled with precision. From facilitating team meetings to cross-training new hires on POS functions and store operations, you will be the backbone of the store's daily rhythm, ensuring that safety protocols are followed and that the team remains engaged and accountable.
