The Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine Department of Ophthalmology invites applications for a full-time academic ophthalmologist specializing in Glaucoma. This position offers a robust clinical practice within a well-established, expanding department known for its collegial atmosphere.
The School of Medicine is a community-based public institution dedicated to providing high-quality medical education and postgraduate training. Its mission is to foster a skilled physician workforce to meet the unique healthcare needs of West Virginia and Central Appalachia. Faculty physicians provide a spectrum of care ranging from primary to tertiary services for patients across southwestern West Virginia, eastern Kentucky, and southern Ohio. The department partners with Mountain Health Systems, which includes American College of Surgeons verified Level 2 trauma centers.
The successful candidate will balance a clinical practice with academic responsibilities, including the didactic and clinical teaching of medical students and residents. Opportunities to conduct clinical research supported by an institutional trials team are available. Clinical and surgical activities will be conducted at the Huntington campus facility.
