Educational Alliance partners with diverse communities in Lower Manhattan to offer high-quality, multi-generational programs that enhance well-being and socioeconomic opportunities. For 130 years, we have served as a place where everyone is welcome, powered by the belief that progress happens one relationship at a time. As a proud Jewish organization with a legacy of transformational service, we operate a network of community centers on Manhattan's Lower East Side and East Village, delivering best-in-class programming across 15 sites in education, health and wellness, arts and culture, and civic engagement.
Our Early Childhood program is an inspired, responsive, and progressive preschool serving children ages 0–5. Built on the principles that all children are competent, capable, and curious, and that all families have something to contribute, we operate a pioneering blended-funding model incorporating Head Start, Early Head Start, Universal Pre-K, and tuition to serve families on the Lower East Side and beyond.
Inspired by the schools of Reggio Emilia, our classrooms are joyful, nurturing environments that foster inquiry, exploration, and reflection. Teachers work collaboratively with children to co-construct a curriculum drawn from children's interests and the world around them, supported by a culture of strong relationships and shared growth.
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Education to advance the vision of our school. In this role, you will ensure that all children are welcome and that teachers feel supported in their daily roles. You will act as a bridge between educational leadership and the classroom, fostering a dynamic, inclusive community where professional development and family engagement are central to our mission.
Interested candidates should submit their application through our careers portal. The selection process includes an initial review of qualifications, followed by interviews with the leadership team and a potential on-site visit to meet with staff and observe the learning environment.
