About the Role
As the Assistant Coach for Volleyball at Nottoway High School, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the experience of our student-athletes. Reporting directly to the Athletic Director, this seasonal position is designed to support the head coach in creating a positive, safe, and competitive environment. You will work closely with Varsity and Middle School Cheerleading programs, providing guidance and monitoring their progress alongside volleyball duties.
Your day-to-day impact involves more than just on-court instruction; you will be a leader in character development, ensuring the highest level of sportsmanship is displayed by coaches, athletes, spectators, and officials. You will manage essential operational aspects, from organizing equipment and maintaining inventory to communicating team rules to parents and students. This role requires a professional who can effectively bridge the gap between the team, administration, and the broader community.
Hiring Process
Candidates selected for an interview will be required to submit two professional references, including one from a current or former supervisor. All finalists must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening process, which includes a Tuberculosis (TB) test, FBI and Virginia State Police criminal history checks, and a Child Protective Services (CPS) background check. A valid driver's license and proof of being at least 18 years of age are mandatory prerequisites for employment.
