The Arizona Attorney General's Office (AGO) State Government Division is dedicated to performing complex legal work that protects the interests of the State of Arizona. The Division is organized into nine specialized sections, including Agency Counsel, Education, Health & Tax, Employment Law, Environmental Enforcement, Liability Management, Licensing and Enforcement, Natural Resources, Public Law, and Transportation. Together, these sections handle a wide variety of legal matters, providing client advice, legal representation, and litigation in administrative, civil, and appellate proceedings.
We are seeking dedicated Assistant Attorney Generals to serve as legal counsel and advocates for the State. In this role, you will provide legal advice and representation in complex cases within State and Federal courts. Your day-to-day work involves preparing legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, and memoranda, conducting investigations, and reviewing evidence. You will appear in court, respond to inquiries from law enforcement and the public, and collaborate with a variety of law enforcement and governmental agencies.
This position offers the opportunity to work on high-exposure cases requiring strategic decision-making and strong analytical skills. Depending on the specific section and business needs, this role may offer the ability to work remotely two days a week, provided performance measures are consistently met.
