About the Role

We are currently seeking a Security Guard for the Oakland Airport, available to start as soon as possible. In this role, you will serve as a critical frontline defender of the airport environment, ensuring the safety and security of passengers, employees, and facilities.

Your day will involve a dynamic mix of screening, patrol, and access control duties. You will inspect concession products and personal items for prohibited items using advanced technology such as CEIA Electro-Magnetic Inspection Scanners (EMIS) and Evolv Edge screening machines. You will also manage access points by inspecting airport employees, validating badges, and escorting unbadged contractors in TSA-regulated areas.

Beyond screening, you will perform perimeter patrols and fence line inspections, monitor traffic flow, and direct vehicles including commercial and ground transportation. You will be responsible for crowd control in partnership with law enforcement, responding to emergency or critical incidents, and conducting stadium-style inspections of personal items. Effective communication and the ability to interact with customers and tenants with the highest level of professionalism are essential to managing queues, assisting with passenger divesting, and supporting day-to-day operations.

Hiring Process

Candidates must possess an active State of California Security License and a valid driver's license. The selection process includes a background check and a random drug screen. Successful candidates will be required to demonstrate a neat, well-groomed appearance and the ability to distinguish all colors with vision correctable to 20/20.
