About the Role
KDG Construction Consulting is seeking an Airport Maintenance Manager (AMM) to ensure the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of airport facilities, airfield systems, and maintenance activities at Oceanside Airport. Under the direction of Airport Management, this role oversees day-to-day maintenance operations, coordinates long-term maintenance planning, and supervises maintenance staff to ensure compliance with airport safety standards and operational requirements.
The AMM serves as the frontline leader for airfield integrity, conducting daily inspections of runways, taxiways, and aprons to identify and remove hazards. This position requires a proactive approach to monitoring airfield lighting, signage, and pavement markings while coordinating critical repairs such as pavement patching and lighting fixes. The manager also oversees fuel system inspections, ensuring Jet-A and Avgas storage tanks and fueling equipment remain free of contamination and fully operational.
Beyond airfield operations, the AMM manages the broader facility environment, including the cleanliness of restrooms and administrative offices, as well as the functionality of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. Grounds maintenance is a key component, involving the upkeep of landscaping to maintain runway clear zones and the inspection of drainage systems. The role also demands readiness to respond to emergencies, including fuel spills and aircraft incidents, coordinating immediate maintenance responses to support airport safety initiatives.
