About the Role

The AI Automation Engineer serves as a strategic partner in identifying, evaluating, and implementing technology solutions that align with the organization's manufacturing goals. This role is designed to enhance operational efficiency, improve product quality, and drive a competitive advantage by bridging the gap between emerging technologies and shop-floor realities.

As an Innovation Specialist, you will monitor industry trends, lead pilot projects, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to accelerate digital transformation. The ideal candidate blends creativity with technical rigor, capable of experimenting rapidly while ensuring all solutions scale within enterprise IT standards. You will act as a catalyst for change, facilitating workshops and innovation labs to foster a culture where new ideas are tested, validated, and integrated into the business.

Day in the Life

Your work will span the full lifecycle of innovation, from scouting vendors and mapping current processes to building IT roadmaps and managing intellectual property. You will collaborate closely with engineering, production, quality, and finance teams to diagnose process inefficiencies and propose technology-driven solutions. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to supporting the planning and execution of proof-of-concepts, ensuring that automation, robotics, and IoT integrations are feasible, compliant, and scalable.

You will also be responsible for translating complex business needs into clear technical concepts and high-level requirements. Whether preparing business cases for leadership or assisting with change management to ensure technology adoption, your role requires strong analytical thinking to evaluate ROI, long-term maintainability, and operational impact.

Hiring Process & Application

Candidates must be willing to travel occasionally (10% - 20%) to manufacturing sites to provide on-site support. Applications are reviewed based on a blend of technical expertise in automation and a demonstrated ability to drive innovation within a manufacturing environment.
