The AI Architect serves as a strategic leader responsible for designing and delivering production-ready AI solutions that drive enterprise-wide impact within the K12 education sector. This role goes beyond technical execution; it involves managing a small team of AI Engineers while flexing resources from UX, front-end, and subject matter experts to create innovative solutions. The position is deeply rooted in applied AI, requiring a passion for the K12 experience and the ability to mentor team members in technical development while ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.
You will drive the timely delivery of AI products directly linked to actionable business decisions. From proof-of-concept through full productization, you will oversee the entire lifecycle of machine learning models—particularly in natural language processing (NLP) and recommender systems. This includes managing data ingestion, model training, deployment, and monitoring for performance drift. Your work ensures that AI deliverables are well-documented, reproducible, and compliant with evolving data privacy regulations, including strict student data privacy standards.
A key part of your mission is to align K12's AI capabilities with the needs of schools and school services teams, driving the adoption of actionable data to improve outcomes. You will identify strategic opportunities to leverage data science across other business functions, supporting K12's long-term strategy.
