The AI Architect serves as a strategic leader responsible for designing and delivering production-ready AI solutions that drive enterprise-wide impact within the K12 education sector. This role goes beyond technical execution; it involves managing a small team of AI Engineers while flexing resources from UX, front-end, and subject matter experts to build innovative solutions. The position is deeply rooted in applied AI, requiring a passion for the K12 experience and the ability to set priorities that align technical capabilities with the mission of improving student outcomes.
As a hands-on leader, you will oversee the full lifecycle of machine learning models—from conception and prototyping to deployment and continuous iteration. You will ensure that AI initiatives, particularly in natural language processing and recommender systems, are not only technically robust but also actionable for business decisions. This involves working closely with product, engineering, and executive leadership to define strategic opportunities that leverage data science across the organization.
You will join a team dedicated to transforming education through technology. The AI Architect acts as a bridge between complex data science and practical application, ensuring that AI deliverables are well-documented, reproducible, and compliant with strict data privacy regulations, including student data protection. By fostering a culture of responsible AI and ethical governance, the role supports the broader mission of delivering improved outcomes for schools and school services teams.
Candidates selected for this role will engage in a structured interview process designed to assess both technical depth and cultural fit. While specific steps may vary, the process typically includes an initial screening, technical deep-dives into ML architecture and MLOps, and discussions on leadership style and team collaboration.
