The Plant Mechanic serves as a critical guardian of operational continuity within our aggregate facility. This role is dedicated to the safe repair and maintenance of heavy mining equipment, including crushers, screen decks, conveyors, and drums. Beyond technical diagnostics, the position requires a proactive approach to safety and efficiency, ensuring that daily inspections, documentation, and operational support are seamlessly integrated into the plant's workflow.
You will be the first line of defense against downtime, collaborating closely with plant and mobile equipment teams to troubleshoot hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic issues. Your day-to-day involves a blend of hands-on mechanical work—such as preventative maintenance, component replacement, and equipment rebuilds—and operational support, including operating loaders, excavators, and haul trucks to assist with material handling and site cleanup.
Safety is the foundation of our operations. As a Plant Mechanic, you are expected to strictly adhere to MSHA rules and regulations, company safety policies, and lockout/tagout procedures at all times. You will actively participate in safety meetings, inspections, and training programs, while remaining vigilant in identifying and reporting hazards or equipment concerns immediately. Maintaining a clean, organized workspace and addressing housekeeping issues are integral parts of your responsibility to ensure a safe environment for all.
To join our team, successful candidates must complete a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, a drug and alcohol screen, and a background check. Certain positions may also require FMCSA-regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
