This position serves as a vital clinical partner to physicians, assisting in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients within a high-acuity setting. You will play a central role in the patient care continuum, conducting comprehensive interviews, documenting detailed medical histories, and performing specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as cast application, wound suturing, and dressing changes.
Beyond direct patient care, you will collaborate with physicians to develop care plans, order and interpret laboratory tests, and arrange necessary referrals to community services. A significant component of this role involves patient education, where you will guide individuals on health habits, self-examinations, and medication management. Additionally, you will contribute to the academic mission by training and teaching students and residents in unique clinical techniques, while actively participating in organizational health services committees and research projects.
