About the Team
MUSC Florence, in affiliation with the MUSC Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, is dedicated to making transformational care more widely available to patients throughout South Carolina. We are recruiting for an Adult Psychiatrist to join a team of driven providers at the Leatherman Behavioral Care Pavilion in Florence, SC.
The Leatherman Behavioral Care Pavilion is a 63-bed behavioral health hospital featuring 51 adult inpatient beds, 12 adolescent inpatient beds, 16 adult EmPATH bays, 4 adolescent EmPATH bays, and outpatient services. The successful candidate will be connected to MUSC's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Sciences in Charleston via an affiliate faculty appointment. This connection provides access to the division's resources, including weekly grand rounds, and ensures robust clinical support from the Charleston team.
About the Role
You will provide comprehensive psychiatric services within a multidisciplinary care environment. The role is designed to balance clinical responsibilities across three key areas: 40% inpatient care, 40% outpatient services, and 20% EmPATH (Emergency Psychiatric Assessment, Treatment, and Hospitalization) care.
Your day-to-day duties will include hospital rounding, delivering outpatient services, and managing EmPATH cases. The schedule operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Additionally, the position includes on-call responsibilities, with compensation structured at a 1:3 or 1:4 ratio, with the eventual goal of a minimum 1:4 call schedule.
