Founded to fulfill a vision of orthopedic excellence, the Center for Orthopedic Research and Education (CORE) Institute in Phoenix, Arizona, delivers the highest level of musculoskeletal healthcare. Our mission is built upon a foundation of pioneering research, academics, community service, and a passion for excellence in patient care and outcomes.
We are currently seeking Fellows for the 2026-2027 academic year to join our specialized programs. These fellowships are designed to provide intensive, high-volume training under the guidance of highly experienced faculty who are leaders in their respective fields.
The CORE Institute Hip and Knee Reconstruction Fellowship spans 12 months, offering a distinctive curriculum where fellows actively engage in over 500 routine and intricate adult reconstruction surgeries. The program features thorough training in robotics and provides significant exposure to complex revision cases and tumor reconstruction, leveraging the faculty's diverse expertise. The Adult Reconstructive Service handles one of the highest volumes of complex revision cases nationally.
This 12-month clinical fellowship focuses on non-operative spine care and interventional pain medicine. Fellows collaborate with physicians in a large, highly active, multidisciplinary group in Phoenix. The program emphasizes proficiency in various interventional procedures, including fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided injections, spinal cord stimulator trials and implants, and kyphoplasty. Comprehensive training in medication management and electrodiagnostics is included, alongside elective rotations in orthopedic spine surgery and neuroradiology. Successful completion makes fellows eligible for board certification through the American Board of Pain Medicine.
The CORE Institute Spine Fellowship offers a one-year post-residency program in the management of spinal disorders. The division combines talented surgical leaders with pain management and rehabilitation specialists to provide a holistic approach to non-surgical and surgical workups. Surgical training covers cutting-edge minimally invasive and open surgeries across the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. Fellows benefit from access to a biomechanical research laboratory, motion analysis laboratory, and a fully staffed clinical research infrastructure. The program also includes active participation in monthly spine conferences and journal clubs.
To apply, candidates must submit a CV, a personal statement, and three letters of recommendation. Completion of, or current participation in, an Orthopedic Surgery Residency in the United States or Canada is required.
