About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Adult Med Surg Registered Nurse to join our Medical-Surgical department. In this role, you will be a key member of an interdisciplinary care team, providing comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to adult patients with a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions. You will partner with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care, ensuring safe transitions and a positive experience for patients and their families.
As part of our team, you will not only manage patient assessments and individualized care plans but also mentor nursing colleagues and participate in shared governance. Key Responsibilities
- check_circleProvide direct, evidence-based nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients
- check_circlePerform comprehensive patient assessments and respond to changes in condition
- check_circleAdminister medications, treatments, and therapies safely and accurately
- check_circleMonitor and interpret diagnostic results, vital signs, and telemetry data
- check_circleEducate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and discharge instructions
- check_circleDocument all aspects of patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record
- check_circleMaintain adherence to infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards
- check_circleAssist with admission, transfer, and discharge processes to ensure safe patient flow
- check_circleParticipate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice activities
- check_circlePrecept, mentor, or support new staff and nursing students as appropriate
- check_circleCollaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
Requirements
- verifiedCurrent unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- verifiedBasic Life Support (BLS) certification
- verifiedAdvanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (or obtained within specified timeframe after hire)
- verifiedTelemetry/arrhythmia interpretation competency
- verifiedNIH Stroke Scale certification (preferred)
- verifiedMedical-surgical nursing certification (CMSRN or RN-BC) preferred
Nice to Have
NIH Stroke Scale certification. Medical-surgical nursing certification (CMSRN or RN-BC).
