The Rural Health Transformation (RHT) Program Manager serves as a strategic and operational leader for the University of Utah's role in Utah's Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP). This position is central to the successful implementation and management of the LIFT (Leveraging Innovation for Facilitated Telehealth) Initiative, a five-year federal funding program designed to expand telehealth capacity, digital infrastructure, and rural health innovation across the state.
As the operational point of contact for the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), you will manage federal funds allocated to the university while ensuring strict compliance with all reporting requirements. This role exists to bridge the gap between high-level strategic planning and on-the-ground execution, supporting statewide efforts to improve connectivity and technology-enabled care models for rural communities.
The position requires in-state travel for site visits to rural providers, health systems, and community partners. As a grant-funded role, continuation beyond the initial five-year period will depend on future funding availability. You will work closely with the RHTP Director to lead strategic planning, oversee daily operations, and coordinate hiring and procurement activities to ensure the LIFT initiative meets its goals.
