The School of Art & Design within the College of Performing & Visual Arts at the University of Northern Colorado seeks to cultivate a diverse pool of adjunct faculty. This open pool is designed to fill temporary full- or part-time teaching positions for the Fall 2026 through Summer 2027 academic year. The school offers a dynamic environment for instruction across art history, traditional studio arts, digital media, video and game design, graphic design, and art education.
This position serves as a flexible hiring pool for potential adjunct faculty members. Candidates will be contacted only when a suitable teaching assignment becomes available. The role involves teaching college-level courses that require a commitment to quality instruction and the ability to effectively communicate knowledge and insight to students. The school values a significant record of professional achievement in creative activity, research, and publication, recognizing that highly qualified artist-teachers may bring expertise equivalent to terminal degrees through substantial experience and training.

This is an open pool posting that expires on May 31, 2027. Applicants wishing to remain in the pool beyond this date must reapply. The position is contingent upon funding from the Colorado State Legislature, approval by the Board of Trustees, and adherence to university policies. Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, educational verification, and provide original transcripts within one month of hire.
