The Division of Business, Public Safety & Technology at South Texas College seeks dedicated adjunct faculty members to join our team across multiple departments. As an adjunct faculty member, you will be expected to connect subject matter with related fields and maintain currency through professional development. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve planning and organizing instruction to maximize student learning, employing strategies that promote engagement, and modifying methods to meet diverse student needs. You will also utilize instructional technology effectively, encourage the development of communication and higher-order thinking skills, and contribute to the selection of instructional materials.
Beyond the classroom, you will participate in the assessment of student learning outcomes, maintain accurate records of student progress, and ensure the confidentiality of student data. You will also support the college's mission by assisting in curriculum development, participating in student advising, and fostering effective working relationships with students, colleagues, and supervisors. Faculty may be required to teach at any of the College's campuses or teaching sites, including dual enrollment courses at high schools, during time periods outside standard business hours.
