We are seeking multiple part-time adjunct instructors to teach college-level mathematics courses for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters. Our program serves a diverse student body in a non-traditional commuter university setting, emphasizing active and collaborative learning.
This position involves teaching undergraduate mathematics courses, primarily face-to-face during daytime hours, though limited evening and synchronous online sections are available. The curriculum includes College Algebra, Contemporary Mathematics, Introductory Statistics, Calculus I and II, Precalculus, and associated labs. Instructors will utilize instructional technology across face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats, fostering a supportive learning environment for students.
To apply, candidates must submit a complete application package including a cover letter, resume/CV, a one-page description of teaching experiences (in-person and online), professional references, and a complete set of unofficial transcripts. The cover letter must explicitly state availability for face-to-face or online instruction only.
Review of applications begins immediately. If selected for an interview, candidates will be asked to submit three letters of recommendation (written on letterhead, less than one year old, and bearing the writer's signature) to the Search Committee Chair, Dr. Elizabeth Leyva. These may be sent electronically to Elizabeth.Leyva@tamusa.edu or via mail to the College of Arts & Sciences.
Selected candidates must pass a pre-employment background investigation and a criminal history check. Prior to issuing a letter of appointment, official transcripts must be received directly from the degree-granting institutions; transcripts issued to the candidate are not accepted. International transcripts must be translated and evaluated by the prospective faculty member.
