About the Department
The Department of Computational, Engineering, and Mathematical Sciences at Texas A&M University - San Antonio is dedicated to advancing education in STEM fields. We are seeking multiple part-time adjunct instructors to teach college-level mathematics courses for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters. Our program serves a diverse student body in a non-traditional commuter university setting, emphasizing active and collaborative learning.
About the Role
This position involves teaching undergraduate mathematics courses, primarily face-to-face during daytime hours, though limited evening and synchronous online sections are available. The curriculum includes College Algebra, Contemporary Mathematics, Introductory Statistics, Calculus I and II, Precalculus, and associated labs. Instructors will utilize instructional technology across face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats, fostering a supportive learning environment for students.

Hiring Process & Requirements
Selected candidates must pass a pre-employment background investigation and a criminal history check. Prior to issuing a letter of appointment, official transcripts must be received directly from the degree-granting institutions; transcripts issued to the candidate are not accepted. International transcripts must be translated and evaluated by the prospective faculty member.

Working towards (ABD) or has earned Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related field. Experience and interest in teaching undergraduates in a college/university setting. Broad training in mathematics. Experience with Blackboard Learning Management System. Experience with non-traditional commuter university setting.
