Additive Manufacturing Technicians are the backbone of our metal printing operations, responsible for the end-to-end execution of 3D LBPF (Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion) builds. This role exists to ensure high-fidelity manufacturing of medical-grade devices, bridging the gap between digital CAD models and physical reality. You will manage the full lifecycle of the print, from initial model review and build preparation to machine operation, maintenance, and post-processing.
Your day involves operating Direct Metal and Polymeric 3D printers, handling ultra-fine metallic powders, and performing precision tasks like micro-blasting, grinding, and deburring. You will work closely with R&D engineers to test verification samples on hydraulic and electronic frames, ensuring every device meets rigorous quality standards. Attention to detail is paramount, as you will review model drawings, process requirements, and maintain comprehensive device records in a regulated environment.
This position operates within a hybrid environment combining standard laboratory conditions with the dynamic atmosphere of a machine shop. You will work in areas that may feature noise, dust, and elevated temperatures. Safety is a core component of the culture; the role requires strict adherence to PPE protocols, including full-face respirators, fire-retardant clothing, and hearing protection. A respirator fit test is mandatory prior to starting.
The schedule alternates between Tuesday–Saturday and Sunday–Thursday shifts, running from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The role demands physical stamina, including the ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 35 lbs, and perform tasks requiring squatting, kneeling, or ladder use.
