City Year is an AmeriCorps program dedicated to helping students across schools succeed. Our teams of AmeriCorps members provide comprehensive support to students, classrooms, and the entire school community. Our mission is to ensure that students receive a high-quality education that equips them with the skills and mindset necessary to thrive and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
As a Student Success Coach and Mentor, you will serve as a City Year AmeriCorps Member, focusing on coaching and mentoring elementary, middle, and/or high school students. Your work will center on helping students achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors at school.
You will plan and monitor individual student progress while collaborating with teachers on whole-class instruction, breakout spaces, and in-class student assistance. This role is designed for those who want to build themselves, give back, and are ready to change the world. While experience in these specific tasks is not required, you will receive 2-4 weeks of training at the beginning of the year to prepare you for service. Throughout your term, you will work closely with partner teachers and school staff every step of the way.
To apply, visit the City Year application portal at joincityyear.force.com and submit your completed application online. For additional information on the application process, please visit cityyear.org. For more details about this specific role, you may also visit our website.
City Year AmeriCorps members are as varied as the communities we serve. We are committed to building a diverse team that reflects the students we support. We look for individuals who are passionate about education and community impact.
