About the Role

As a Student Success Coach and Mentor, you will serve as a City Year AmeriCorps Member, focusing on coaching and mentoring elementary, middle, and/or high school students. This role is designed to help students achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors at school.

You will work closely with teachers to support whole-class instruction, manage breakout spaces, and provide in-class assistance. While experience in these specific tasks is not required, you will receive 2-4 weeks of training at the beginning of the year to prepare you for service. Throughout your term, you will collaborate with partner teachers and school staff to monitor individual student progress, create engaging classroom environments, and support whole-school initiatives that increase engagement with students and families.
