City Year is an AmeriCorps program dedicated to helping students across schools succeed. Our teams of AmeriCorps members provide comprehensive support to students, classrooms, and the entire school community. Our mission is to ensure that students receive a high-quality education that equips them with the skills and mindset necessary to thrive and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
As a City Year AmeriCorps Member, you will serve as a student success coach and mentor for elementary, middle, and/or high school students. Your service focuses on helping students achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors. You will work closely with teachers to support whole-class instruction and provide targeted in-class assistance.
This is an entry-level, paid, full-time position designed for individuals ready to build themselves, give back, and change the world. While experience in these specific tasks is not required, you will receive 2-4 weeks of training at the beginning of the year. Throughout your service, you will collaborate with partner teachers and school staff every step of the way to monitor individual student progress and create engaging, safe, and healthy classroom environments.
To apply, visit joincityyear.force.com and submit your completed application online. For additional information on the application process, please visit cityyear.org. You can also visit our website for more details about this role.
City Year AmeriCorps members are as varied as the communities we serve. We are committed to diversity and inclusion, looking for individuals who are passionate about making a difference. Please note that eligibility requires U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residency; those with DACA status are not eligible at this time.
