City Year is an AmeriCorps program dedicated to helping students across schools succeed. Our teams of AmeriCorps members provide comprehensive support to students, classrooms, and the entire school community. Our mission is to ensure that students receive a high-quality education that equips them with the skills and mindset necessary to thrive and contribute to their communities.
As a Student Success Coach and Mentor, your service will focus on coaching and mentoring elementary, middle, and/or high school students. You will partner with teachers and school staff to help students earn academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors. This role is designed for individuals ready to build themselves, give back, and change the world.
You will not need prior experience in all tasks, as we provide 2-4 weeks of training at the beginning of the year to support your journey. Your day-to-day will involve planning and monitoring individual student progress, working with identified students one-on-one and in small groups, and collaborating with teachers on whole-class instruction and in-class assistance. You will help create an engaging, safe, and healthy classroom environment while supporting whole-school initiatives to increase engagement with students and families.
To apply, visit our application portal at joincityyear.force.com and submit your completed application online. For more information on the application process, please visit cityyear.org.
City Year AmeriCorps members are as varied as the communities we serve. We are committed to building a diverse team that reflects the students we serve and is ready to make a tangible impact.
